The tea brand Cupper brings the Allos Hof-Manufaktur a double-digit increase in turnover. The secret is high-quality tea blends in upbeat yet recyclable packaging.

Colourful and stylish in design, the tea packages from Cupper (cupper-teas.de) are hard to miss on the shelves of grocery stores and drugstores. The individual varieties bear names like “Be Happy”, “Flower Power” and “Zen Balance”. They have been blended under the motto “natural, fair & delicious” since 1984 in the county of Dorset in southwest England. The range includes herbal, fruit, green and black teas.

Big increase in turnover

Last year, Allos Hof-Manufaktur (AHM) GmbH, to which the Cupper brand belongs, achieved a 24 percent increase in sales with teas, according to AHM Managing Director Eike Mehlhop. According to Mehlhop, Cupper is the No. 2 organic tea brand in Germany and in the total tea market Cupper ranks 6th among the top 15 brands in terms of total sales.

Limited blends

New products such as the limited-edition tea blends “Fresh Glow”, “Sweet Pause” and “Apple & Cinnamon”, which were offered exclusively through the dm drugstore chain until March, should ensure further growth. In addition, the focus remains on sustainability. According to Mehlhop, only high-quality and fairly traded organic raw materials are used. The tea packs each contain 20 sachets with unbleached, compostable tea bags without metal clips, which can be recycled in the waste paper.
